Paola Agosti’s Photographs of the Feminist Movement

Taken on March 8, 1978, The two women in this photograph are painting protest signs for the day of the woman. Photographer Paola Agosti extensively documented the Italian feminist movement, from the humorous nursery rhyme quality of banner text to portraits of the movement’s members. She took a number of photographs at the Womens’ House on Via del Governo Vechhio, which was occupied at the time by members of the women’s movement.
